Chelsea sign Essien

Michael Essien is officially moving to Chelsea. The player has apparently been signed for a total of £23 million. His previous club was Lyon. The deal has Essien to play for Chelsea for five years which is considered as a very positive step on the side of the player and the Chelsea management.
Essien is only 22. Chelsea have been trying to secure Essien all summer with their bids being continously turned down. The price kept rising, in all probability because Lyon was aware how much Jose Mourinho wanted the player.
