Thailand Is Nearly Clear Of H5N1

Written by JDPGlobal | Friday, 09 December 2005

The Nation of Thailand will be adjudged to be “bird flu free” after there were zero amounts of poultry found in the country which were affected by or even containing the H5N1 avian flu. During the meeting of the State Cabinet, the Ministry of Agriculture and the countrys co-op’s announced that there were no cases of the bird flu to report in the country.

Only one of the regions is being kept a close watch on, namely the Wat Chalo District in the province of Nonthaburi. The government spokesman that if this area too was found with no signs of the H5N1 avian flu virus strains, the whole country of Thailand would be “bird flu free” eventually, Wat Chalo District being the only district that still remains affected unlike the other remaining districts.

The government would also take steps to prevent the disease from attacking the country again as part of a complete bird flu containment policy.
