How to take your Propecia effectively
Once you have made sure that your Propecia is genuine then the next thing
you need to do is to start taking the Propecia. Here at USAmedix our medical
team has researched Propecia to be able to provide a simple guide to taking
Propecia to get the maximum benefit from it.
We have also included a short background on Propecia so that you can refresh
yourself on what Propecia is designed to do, and how successful it was in
clinical trials before it was launched.
Propecia – What is it?
Propecia is a medication that is used for treating men who suffer from male
pattern hair loss or baldness.
Who should take Propecia?
You should consider taking Propecia if you have started losing hair on the
top of your head and would like to keep what you have got left, and possibly
give yourself the chance of some regrowth. Propecia can then be considered
with medical supervision or a medical consultation.
When is it best to start taking Propecia?
People generally start taking Propecia when they start to notice that they
are losing their hair and are suffering from Male Pattern Hair Loss. It is
generally found that if you have male pattern hair loss it is best to take
Propecia sooner rather than later.
How does Propecia work?
Propecia is effective at treating male pattern hair loss by preventing the
production of DHT. DHT is a substance that starts to shrink hair follicles
and therefore causes hair to fall out.
How do I know that Propecia works?
In the clinical trials on Propecia it was found that 90% of the men treated
had positive results.
How to take Propecia
It is advised by Merck that Propecia should be taken daily and should be
taken for at least three months before you can see any results. At USAmedix
we have learnt that the best results from taking Propecia are seen between
six and nine months of starting to take the medication.
It is advised that Propecia should be taken with a glass of water and taken
at a designated time of day, such as when you get up or just before you go
to bed. This will help you remember to take your Propecia regularly. Propecia
can be taken with or without food and whatever time of day you take the medication
it will be as effective. If you happen to forget to take one of your daily
doses of Propecia then do not take an extra dose, just carry on the next day
as usual.
An important factor with the way Propecia works is that once you start taking
it and seeing results you will have to continue it indefinitely. Once you
stop taking Propecia, your body will start producing DHT again which will
carry on the effects causing male pattern hair loss again. Any regrowth gained
from taking Propecia will also start to fall out.
What if Propecia does not work for you?
In clinical trails into Propecia it was proved to be successful on 90% of
the men that took the medication. To understand this in a different way is
that it was unsuccessful for 10% of the men in the trials. If Propecia is
not effective for you it may be the case that you have not started treating
your male pattern hair loss early enough.
There are other medications and treatments for male pattern hair loss, like
topical medications, hair pieces and surgical procedures. This is not as convenient
as taking a Propecia pill every day but all the treatments available are seen
to have beneficial results.
