Poker is increasing in popularity day by day especially due to the online gaming boom and poker players do not want to be left far behind. They seem to be taking to new fields these days. JDP Global has learned that the poker players will chip into Park City for the new skateboard park. A grand opening ceremony was held on Sunday, soon after all the new equipment was installed. These were bought using the money from Park City Texas Hold’em tournament held earlier in the year.
The amount spent by the park on the new half pipe is $34,000. While $25,000 was collected through the tournament, the rest was raised by kids. Even the rain could not rein in the joy and the excitement of the kids to break it in.
The authorities however believe that the rain caused a lot of wipe outs. It was evident that a bump on the head or a bloody elbow wouldn’t prevent them from trying tricks. At a price tag of $300,000, the park plans to have several more ramps. But, they will have to go must faster with fundraising before that happens.
