Wanted: Video poker ban

The License Commission of the USA was asked by the members of a state police anti-crime force to ban video poker machines from Chicopee. The board members on the advice of attorney Thomas Rook procrastinated acting on the matter.
This was done so that the attorney could research state law on the matter. 15 public and private clubs were swept through by the State and local police officers. No machines have been seized. No arrests have been made so far.
Sgt.Imelio was of the view that the state law, which is antiquated makes the machines legal. Slot machines with mechanical reels are banned by the State law. He further said that they could wipe out these machines, if they could change the statute. The anti-crime task force has asked the local communities to ban the machines, as the legislature is slow, according to the state police. Hampden, Belchertown, South Hadley, Holyoke and Agawam have all been covered under the ban.
