Lincoln Co-op Chemists, which has switched systems to Network Manager from Cegedim Rx, a pharmacy system that automatically delivers the latest industry pricing and product news, claims that they are saving money for their customers whilst providing them with the most up-to-date medical data.
The group, which has enjoyed strong growth over recent years, with the number of pharmacies it operates rising from five to 30, said that it has been using Cegedim Rx’s Pharmacy Manager system for around 10 years, and has also installed a range of additional, complementary solutions to meet the evolving requirements of the pharmacy and provide the latest support, medical and drug information to customers, pharmacists and management.
Cegedim Rx’s Virtual Private Network (VPN) solution got a total rollout of Network Manager across the whole group after a trial proved that it was very effective. Apart from offering secure and reliable data and information transport, the pharmacy computer dials in automatically to the Cegedim Rx system, securely collecting the latest product information, pricing details and program updates.
They monitor and help to control the location from where stock is being bought by the individual pharmacy branches and provide the data transport mechanism for the Cegedim Rx suite of head office programs, Branch Manager and Information Manager.
The elated spokesman of the company was quoted saying that the new system saved money, which they passed directly on to the customers and was also ploughed directly back into the community through sponsorship and support of local events and initiatives.
'The ever renewing knowledge base is a great plus', he added.
