Cargo Insurance

Every country in the world is a trading nation. To achieve this trade all goods and other materials usually have to be transported from one country to another. Countries purchase raw materials and specific parts, build or manufacture them into something else and then re-sell them abroad or to retailers in our own High Streets. This international movement of goods creates the need for a particular type of insurance, one that provides cover throughout the term of the transit, that gives protection from risks of transit and that can be handed on from seller to buyer as the merchandise or goods themselves change hands.

Although there is no law that makes insurance of property in transit obligatory it is clear that property in transit is subject to a degree of risk. Not having insurance could mean the business of trade is seriously restricted and certainly trying to raise any form of finance without insurance would be almost impossible.
