China Rebuts Report On Bird Flu Pandemic

Gao Oiang at the Ministry of Health blasted an overseas report on the bird flu epidemic situation in China by saying that it is completely against the truth and ill meaning. Gao said that the accountability of providing precise and reliable information to the general public lies with the media workers, which apart from meeting the requirements of the public for information, safeguards the reputation of the media. This was reported in a press conference.
As per Gao, an overseas newspaper had a column saying that a Japanese expert who claimed that the World Health Organisation (WHO) hired him said that the bird flu had taken lives of 300 people in China that involved seven cases of human-to-human transmission.
A press conference was organized by the WHO two days ago in which it didn’t accept that it was involved in hiring the Japanese expert. Gao said that the understanding between the WHO and China was successful and China didn’t cover up its bird flu situation.
